    So... if you got a glass sphere on a stick and put a flat map behind it you can get instant Mercator (or similar) style map to globe conversion. Surely there must be a nifty gadget where you can get an LCD screen to generate a moving world or select many different worlds or get the longitude offset to change with hand gestures, touch detect etc. Since its so hard to make 3D global maps cant someone do this instead ? You dont see glass spheres all that often but they do exists. Anyone got one to play around with ? The only one I have is my avater
