    Map Two completed maps

I finished two maps in the same day, so I decided to post them together.

The first is a fictional digital map:

Two completely different styles. I like both, but I think my favourite has to be the top one

EDIT: unfortunately you seem to have been too prolific for your me to be able to rep you again so soon

    Thanks!
Unfortunately, I will not be accepting commissions for awhile (I'm quite busy). Good luck in finding someone though!

    Question

How did you do your text(top map)? It reads well even from a distance.

    1. Duplicate parchment texture, and put it right beneath the typography layer.
    2. (On typography layer) do a color select of the black (or if you have different colors, select the transparency and invert selection) then select the parchment copy that was put under the typography.
    3. Go select>grow and grow the selection about 25 px (depending on the size of your map).
    4. Go select>invert and strike delete key or go ctrl>x then go select>none.

    Hope that helps!

P.S. That procedure was developed by Mouse, not me.

My years are burning, LC! LOL!

XCali - That method was a solution for a map that is predominantly line work with a fairly uniform background. Its meant to fade the line work in the immediate area of each letter, so that the letters don't get all tangled up with the line work, but without adding a glow that doesn't really go with the parchment. I'm not sure how you would apply it to a map that is predominantly shading and colour like yours is, XCali. Maybe you can adapt it in some way and make an XCali method for it. Of you may find that sticking to your current solution of having a glow around the letters is the best way for you.

Admittedly, I'm not sure how to approach that method. hehe. *scratches head* Maybe I'm too tired. I'll try to understand it again in the morning. But thanks anyway!

Hehe, I'll do my best with it. Though I have to admit it is one hard challenge to figure out the text style for Nessa'Mor. But thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it.
