Our 55th Jörđgarđ (TM) Map of the Week comes from our forthcoming publication "The Northwest."

This week we remain in Underhill in the Dreadlands, where we look inside the tower of Dagrún, the Marchioness of the Dreadlands. Dagrún is a red draug (undead) black necromancer.

    Key to Dagrún's Tower

    Ground Floor:

Five male and female orc warriors and a male or female human wizard are on guard here at all times.

    1. Entry. The solid oak double doors are 7 feet/210 cm wide and high 15 inches/38 cm thick. They are kept locked at all times. There is an openable slit that the orc guards can use to see who would-be visitors are.

    2. Orc Commander's Desk.

    3. Human Wizard's Desk.

    4. Missing.

    5. Crane Lift. The main use of this lift is to transport firewood up to the top story. The lift always is kept on the top story. It is lowered only when needed.

    6. Orcs' Weapon Rack.

    7. Bookcase.

    2nd Story:

This story is 60 feet/18 m above the ground floor. The ceiling is 10 feet/3 m high. It serves as Dagrún's treasury. The exact contents of the treasury are left for the game master to determine.

    8. Storage Shelves.

    9. Crane Lift. The main use of this lift is to transport firewood up to the top story. The lift always is kept on the top story. It is lowered only when needed.

    10. Teleport Circle. The glowing circle is empowered only to teleport a person standing within it to any of the other top three stories.

    3rd Story:

The ceiling is 10 feet/3 m high. This level is Dagrún's library. It contains the books, manuscripts and scrolls that she uses least often. Those texts that she uses more frequently are in a smaller bookshelf on the top story. The exact contents of the library are left for the game master to determine.

    11. Crane Lift. The main use of this lift is to transport firewood up to the top story. The lift always is kept on the top story. It is lowered only when needed.

    12. Teleport Circle. The glowing circle is empowered only to teleport a person standing within it to any of the other top three stories.

    13. Bookshelves.

    4th Story:

The ceiling is 10 feet/3 m high. This level is Dagrún's supply room. It contains the spell components and other materials that shee needs for her magical research. The exact contents are left for the game master to determine.

    14. Crane Lift. The main use of this lift is to transport firewood up to the top story. The lift always is kept on the top story. It is lowered only when needed.

    15. Teleport Circle. The glowing circle is empowered only to teleport a person standing within it to any of the other top three stories.

    Top Story:

The ceiling is 10 feet/3 m high. The roof is covered with lead. This level is Dagrún's work chamber. She spends almost all of her time here. The exact contents are left for the game master to determine.

    16. Teleport Circle. The glowing circle is empowered only to teleport a person standing within it to any of the other top three stories.

    17. Crane Lift. The main use of this lift is to transport firewood up to the top story. The lift always is kept on the top story. It is lowered only when needed.

    18. The Crane. The hand-cranked crane lowers and raises the lift. Dagrún uses her zombie animation (No. 21) to do the physical work.

    19. Wood Stove. Dagrún is immune to cold, but not all of her spell components are unaffected by it. The stove keeps things at the proper temperature on cool days.

    20. External Chimney. A stove pipe runs from the stove through the wall to the chimney.

    21. Zombie Animation. The animation is Dagrún's servant. Its main task is to raise and lower the list. Note that the zombie is a magical animation. It is not living or undead and has no intelligence or other properties of its own. It acts only when steered by Dagrún's magic.

    22. Operating Table. Dagrún uses this table to dissect her living human victims and human corpses.

    23. Throne.

    24. Bookcase.

    25. Dagrún's Desk.

    26. Manuscript Table. The marchioness uses the table to write scrolls and documentation of the results of her magical research.

    27. Laboratory. Dagrún uses the lab to make potions and other chemical and alchemical combinations that serve her magic.

You can get the map of Dagrún's Tower in two versions:
