But back to the WIP:

I'm trying out a different light/dark balance in this WIP. As you can see the city is pretty much finished. About 8 buildings left in the main city, the bit of western wall to finish, the Sunrise Twin Mountain above the Pit, the river beyond the western wall ... then to add a few labels and maybe some detail bitbobs ... and *then*, if I still have time (probably not) ... scan it at 1200 dpi, digitally clean it up and add all the people! Ok, that last was a joke.

Doesn't anybody sleep here? I like your coffee fueled latest wip best. Nice fisheye/handrawn work. I'm not sure if I've seen the like. Time to go trawl the gallery.

There we go! Finished and 3 hours to go. And 0 anti-aliasing*. There was a simpler trick ... just increase the size of the final file and let the browser anti-alias it when it's not at full-view!

Rudvik - City of the Pit, built on the site of a long abandoned giantish mine beneath the Sunrise Twin mountain, the lower of the two Twins, in the high valley of the White River. All the buildings you see are the result of a rare metal boom in the region following settlement by the Vale Folk from the Easting who fled the evul Centaur Khans following the fall of the Eternal Empire of Goldmouth (actually lasted about 400 years).

For the D&D afficionados: a very lawful place with a strong militia, combining dwarves and humans bent on extracting ores while beating surrounding natives (wildlings) and fauna (monsters) into pulp to allow for the faster extraction of minerals and accumulation of wealth (capital). Ruled by a "Chief" who heads a city council elected by the most important (richest) local "nobles" (determined by income) and under the overlordship of the Good Baron of Gomilsk who is the nominal owner of all local lands (pocketing a percentage of all wealth extracted from the lands - be it from mining or adventuring). Adventuring without a "license" that costs 1 gold emperor per month (or the individual adventurer can purchase a 6 g.e. annual "grand license") is a no-no and gets your PC put in stocks, fined and publicly humiliated.
