Made in PS, with Antique Style Maps In PhotoShop tutorial.

I got the compass rose in Wikipedia.

It looks antique, alright - (correction - I zoomed in). The texture looks perfect and the font choice is wonderful as well. What font did you use? Regular times?

One thing I would suggest is positioning the latitude and longitude a bit more off centre. Right now it looks like you've taken a shot of the central area with a fish-eyed lens. Another thing that bugs me a bit is the sea-lines (what should I call them?) radiating away from the land are a bit too angular and stepped, I think they would look more elegant if they were a bit more rounded.

Yes, the tutorial recommends Regular 'Times New Roman' font.

For this map I added Selection - Modify - Smooth 1...10 in each ring (step14, page 11):



Also I moved the latitude and longitude lines.
