Sorry. I meant to ask if you'd thought about connecting some of your mountain ranges, which are now collections of individual peaks, with longer ridges that would tie them together more, but it doesn't look like that's the style you're going for.

Again, impressive mouse skillz, and I really dig the look of this!

    Thanks Mozltovcocktail & Hart.

Haven't had a whole lot of time to work on this over the weekend. However, I did add some grasslands and redid the rivers and canyon lands (which were bothering me). I think the next step will be to create some town & city symbols to populate the map, then I'll try coloring it.

    Cheers,

That's a good idea to start out drawing on the texture and seeing it development in that way. Do you plan on the using symbols for it?

    Keep up the good work!

I really like your mountains! The improvements you did to the rivers make it fit into the map more since your map has a slight tilt to it instead of it being directly overhead. I liked your canyon to begin with but love your improvement to it. Your lakes don't seem to be at quite the same tilt as the rest of the map. They kinda stand out to me.

I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this map.

Thanks guys. @Apothecaryrose, good catch with the lakes. Not sure at this point if I am really concerned enough with this to change them or not though. I'll think it over. Thanks for your advice.

As long as we don't have an accurate top-down view of the world, I think it is hard to judge whether the lakes are correct or not.

This comes along very nice, Arsheesh! I like the canyon. Is the texture the top layer?

Thanks Sapiento. Do you mean the canyon or parchment texture? Assuming the former, yes it is. Assuming the latter, I have a base parchment layer that I am using, but have added a bit more texture to it via an additional overlay layer.

looking pretty good! And really amazing that you do it with a mouse.... I'd go desperate if my tablet would break down and I'd have a mouse only..... Handdrawing is map is a lot of work, but -at least for me- the most rewarding cheers, DJ

ps. i also uploaded my little step-by-steps to the forums here.
