The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Finally made a map
. I'm not very artistic, and I'm sure that is said a lot, but I do try. I was aiming for an island cluster/chain possibly tropical in nature and maybe formed from extinct/inactive volcanoes. I think I got carried away with the foliage a bit
and the ocean is really dark. I followed the Saderan tutorial as I would get messed up with the others and could not figure out where I went wrong ( Even after reading other threads to find some incite ). Didn't do any rivers, but I'm sure there are a few places that would do nicely for them. Had trouble with the paths part of the tut so I skipped it. In all, I got this done in about four and a half hours and am pretty pleased with my first attempt. So here it is for critiquing. Hope you all enjoy a newbies first try as I'm sure I will enjoy the critiquing. Thanks in advance!
