Default July 2012 entry: The bridge of tears

I am starting with these cloud pictures and this rock texture. I am planning on making a bridge over a river.

Will be off the grid for the weekend, bu this is what I did so far. took the 2 cloud pics, flipped one, placed it opposite the other, played with brightness and contrast and made a mask of the riverside. then used that over the rock texture to make the land.

Nice start. Might want to tweak the rock texture as there is an evident regularity especially the seem lines. That being said I need to tweak my forest texture to get it too scale without it getting a pattern. Also add the (###Latest Wip###) so it will be picked up by the thumbnail scrubber.

Yeah, I like the rock texture but the texture isn't big enough without the nasty repeating. Have to find something larger.

Found a new rock Texture I liked without the repeat patterns.

After tweaking the rock picture, I added the mask that shows the 2 edge outlines and deleted the center part.
