    Wip More Traditional World Map

    I decided to make a more pen an paper style map... its a WIP but here is what I got so far!

    Gold is tricky to imitate. Never figured out how to do that.

    I really like that border you used. Really cool. And the compass. Did you make that or acquire it somewhere?

    The problem with metals in general is that they are reflective. As long as you have nothing to reflect in them they just look either very bright or very dark.

    there has to be a way to simulate gold though...

    Try playing with your gradient tool. I know people commonly simulate metals by having bands of lighter "reflection" merging into darker color bands.

    There's a tutorial on here - can't remember who wrote it - that shows how to do a beaten gold look that looks pretty sweet. Check in the Tutorials section.

    I know how to do that, and I can make text look like gold, its just gradients on your strokes fill and then on a inside path fill... but I was hoping for something more realistic... Ill check out this beaten gold tut!

    Yeah, anything more realistic is beyond my knowledge at the moment.
