No more messing with roof-lines until the crucial stuff is in place!

I could easily spend a month just on the arrangements of houses in the city and their architectural styles. But if I'm going to finish in time, I just have to let. it. go.

Once I have everything there, then I can go back and improve things.

    ya missed one.

It looks very nice. One question... did you do the upper rivers in raster or vector?

It's vector. The Inkscape "pencil" tool creates a line with about a bajillion nodes, which is why it looks so raster-ish. The river needs fine-tuning, but it's a low priority right now

OK. I promised myself I'd get all the buildings roughed in before bed tonight. Turns out the only way to do that was to do a rush, clumsy job of it. So this will need extensive revision, but at least I've gotten the first draft of the building footprints down.

Edited to add: yeah, the sizes and distributions need fine-tuning. And not just because there are buildings built across paths, blocking them.

Alright. I know I said I was stopping for the night, but that last upload looked so noisy/busy it was driving me crazy. Here's a slightly cleaned up version:

Further revision will have to wait until morning; now I really AM going to bed

Don't know to really describe it, but I love the interplay you have going on between smooth and sharp shapes (i.e. the variety of sharp geometric patterns nested within the flowing curves.) Looking forward to the next update.

    Thanks! .

I don't know if I'll have time to work on this between now and when the contest closes, so this might be the final. We'll see.

Alright. Did some touching up and finishing up. (Gonna regret this when the alarm goes off tomorrow morning; I should have been in bed hours ago!)

Edited to add: d'oh! I forgot to turn the ocean contours back on before I exported it. Not dealing with that tonight. One could argue the flat blue looks better anyway... I'll deal with it tomorrow if I have time.
