    Ooooh! Threat rating!
I give myself a .0000001 on the threat meter - I'm such a big softy..

*threadjacking complete, you will now be returned to your regular thread*

    @Sagenlicht - Sorry I couldn't resist

@Ascension - Nice, definitely have to give this a read through - this gives me some more ideas for something that's been bouncing around in my head (big empty space that it is at times).

Sage - no biggie, I'm not a rep whore

SG - you know I'd love to see what your tweaks are and big empty spaces mean more elbow room

I had a chance to read thru and play around with this a bit at work today.

My idea is essentially the whole 'floating chunk o'mountain with castle' thing (largely inspired by Moon's Spawn from The Malazan series). Since I want it set in the daytime I'm still trying to work out the color changes that would be needed for what I want to do.

A very good tutorial. Duly rated.

Oh SG, let me do a threathijacking as well

Did I ever mention that I really liked your previous avatar? Any chances you switch back to the Warforged petty pease?

To end the hijacking. I would love to see that floating castle SG

OK, I switched it back - but I may change it again 'cause I really don't like that one all that much.

I'll see if I can't get a least a very early WIP of the floating castle up in the next day or so.

EDIT: I like this one much better

@Ascension - I was showing this to a friend of mine (they thought it very cool), but when we got to Step 15 (Render Light Effects on the Hill layer), they could not understand how you got to that particular lighting setup (and after several atttempts I couldn't match it either).

It's entirely possible that I'm just experiencing a brain-fart but It looks like you have 5 omni lights there - is that correct? If not can you explain how you set that up?

    Tanx in advance

Yep 5 omnis. On the LE screen, there is a lil light bulb right under the preview window, click on the light bulb and drag it up into the preview then change it's settings to what you want, in my example they're all the same.

Here's a screenshot. Each light will be represented by a white dot and you can change each light by clicking on the respective white dot.
