Map The Red Epic update, Pro maps for Crafty games among others

    Hey guys,

I know its been a long time, but i'v been mad busy putting out lots of maps for alot of people. The six below are for Crafty games, and the others are miscellaneous. I went to the NY comic con with my portfoilio a couple days ago and met Chris Moeller (One of the top artists for Wizards of the Coast, and a really nice dude) and he hooked me up with Mayfair games whom which i will soon be working on the AGe of Steam games, and others.

The siz maps below are for Crafty, after that the maps with grids and locations are for Citadel games for there online MMO, Citadel: Lands of the Empty Sky, www.tridentgames.com (check them out, its going to be a great online game)

And the last one is a one of my private commissions for a member right here on the guild, Bill4747. I have been working on maps for him for a couple months now.
    Tell me what you think

Mad busy? I would say more like insanely busy! Wow!
Bill Stickers is innocent! It isn't Bill's fault that he was hanging out in the wrong place.

While all of them are cool, I especially like the look of the Mameland map. The contrast between the black and white land vs the colored water is really cool, and put that on top of nice parchment and it make for a really cool effect. I also like cartoony feel of the Godspawn, it reminds me of my days reading "choose your own adventure books" and the Epoch "simplistic cavemen" look. These are really super nice pieces of art.

Oh, I forgot to ask, on the Mameland map, did you make custom brushes( am assuming you are using Photoshop or GIMP at least in part) for the trees, or did you make each tree by hand?

I like the forced perspective of this map. Did I say how much I like the Mameland map yet?

    hey there,

This is mostly photoshop work, though the parchment is actually tea-ed paper that is baked in an oven after i had beaten it up. The heat browns and stains the paper, and then i scanned that in. I did the line work for the coast and all that and scanned that in and photoshoped all of the color.

I have my own forest brushes that i have made, both for the trunks and the leaves and i vary them for variety. Custom brushes are the key to map-making i have found...

Thanks for your replies and input everyone!
