    Post Hello

Now that I've left lurkerdom in another thread I guess I should say hi here.

I'm Peter, I'm a Transportation Geographer working in New York, New York. I'm really more of a researcher then a mapmaker in that I really don't care if the maps I produce look pretty, I want them to get across information really well. I'm also not an RPGer. I'm a model railroader. My interest at this site is two fold
    • I like making maps. All kinds of maps, including "pretty" ones

    • I want to create track plans that go beyond the normal "lines in grid" you normally see.

So, aloha, see you all about then.

    Welcome.

The amount of information here is amazing. What tools do you use?

Welcome to the guild, Peter. Although most people on this site use and make maps for RPGs, the site is for all mappers, so I hope you find something of use here and post up some of the maps that you make!

    Hi Peter!

Hope you find something here! The idea of mapping for RR's is quite interesting as I know there are physical restrictions on curve radius and gradients. What gauge do you build in?
