With the 86th Map of the Week we continue in the borderlands town of Óðinn's House in the Kingdom of Slovania. This week we take a look at the twin graves area of the subterranean Dwarven Highwy extension.

This area is another riddle that the Northern Circle has failed to solve to date. Two decorated and well-crafted dwarven graves are in this curve in the highway extension. In one grave, the figure of a dwarf clad only in a loin cloth is chiseled. The sage seers of the circle believe that this indicates that the burying clan considered this dwarf to be dishonorable. The second grave shows the figure of an honorably clothed dwarf who points the way eastward with the index finger of the left hand.

The inside of the lid of both gravestones is inscribed with the runic stave Vindrdauði, which will release a pocket of deadly poisonous air, replacing the air in the tunnel woth poisoned air that can stop a living being from breathing. The poisoned air causes 1d6 points damage per round.

Magicians of the Northern Circle succeeded in neutralizing this magic, temporarily keeping it from triggering when they looked inside the graves, but they were unable to dispel it. It is active again. Inside each grave, the circle found the skeleton of a dead male dwarf. There were no signs of battle damage on the bones and no other clue to the cause of the dwarves' deaths or why they were entombed here in the highway extension tunnel.

1. Highway extension. The tunnel is roughly 20 feet/6 m wide and 10 feet/3 m high.

2. Grave with a dwarf in a loin cloth.

3. Grave with a clothed dwarf.
