Default Nov/Dec 2012 Lite Challenge Entry: City of Vafildra

"Vafildra grew on top of the mighty bridge the dalakians built on the river Man. Once a thriving outpost, it went in decline as the power of the Empire dwindled, and it was sacked by the hordes of Ubria-Lom in 532. A decade later, part of the structure collapsed on a great flood. The city remained as a broken shadow of it former self, but was never abandoned."

Interesting project. I really liked the reflection on the first map though. Are you going to add it again?

I thought the same thing; the reflection was great.

    Thanks guys!
Yeah, I'll definitely add the reflection again once I'm done drawing everything!
Right now I'm struggling with perspective. I wanted to make the arches have depth (like they did on the sketch), but it's not really working, specially since the bridge is quite wide. Any ideas?

For whats its worth, I actually like the sketch a little better. Maybe its cause I can't draw without computer assistance to save my life, but I just really like the feel of it and would love to see you build off that one.

Hope that is taken as more of compliment on the sketch than a criticism of the 2nd version.

So, I decided to go for a completely different, more medieval look. And the top-view didn't suit that, so I got rid of it.
I quite like it. What do you guys think?

I really like this! The medieval look was a good choice. The text work is very nice, and is well suited to the piece. Great job!

Good direction there. You might tone down the reflection some and see if that looks any better to your eyes but I like it so far.
