Wip Fantasy World map, feedback is welcome !

    Hey Guildmembers !

Recently i started making a map, about one continent. Now i would like to expand that to a whole world map.
    Right now i have this:

It shows the continents and the basic temperatures.

My question is, are these continents realistic (enough) for a fantasy world, are the shapes any good ? Are these temperatures plausible ?
Yellow doesn't mean desert, it just means more warm. Red means volcanic islands. Green is for moderate to chill temperature. and white is for really cold.
Right now i'm working on the plates, and mountains after that.

Let me know what you think

Well, from a fellow "conworld maker" who went through the tectonics divining process a while ago, I can tutor a little bit your process of creating plates and mountainrange locations. You've got two paths to follow: one is to consider this map "fixed" and figure out what tectonic boundaries fit in it - this is almost like reverse engineering and it's harder; the other is to take this as a start-map, roughly define tectonic boundaries and move the "clock" some million years forward - if you can do this (specially, if you can learn using g.plates enough to do this) your result will be much more realistic.

As it is now, the human hand behind those shapes is far too clear. However, the fact that you are mapping it to globe is a plus. I think this is the first map presented here where that tool was used.

Lastly - the standard way is tectonics -> mountainplacement -> climate (including ocean currents). I wouldn't worry about temperatures, satellite-look maps or anything like that for now, if you want to get the basics right and follow a top-down creation strategy.

PS: have you read these threads? you gotta

i am a bit of a stickler on few things and have a few "pet peeves" on a few things so .......

a few things i SEE that stand out

the map in the first post is a full planet in "simplecylindrical" format ( 90 N to 90 S )
    "http://maptoglobe" needs it in simplecylindrical
    BUT

the column to row ratio is OFF
    6000 x 4000

this needs to be 2 to 1 for "simplecylindrical"
    6000 x 3000

the two poles need a bit of work -- not much
