Default 4’ x 6’ map for miniature gaming mat

    About
We are a small studio manufacturing miniature wargames terrain and scenery and are aiming at a niche product – wargames terrain mats. They are going to be 4’ x 6’ (122 x 183 cm) tabletop covers with printed picture of map or landscape on them (top view). The landscape should serve as a ground level for all the actual terrain pieces that will be used for a game. How a mat looks like in action is: http://www.harmonyinhuatulco.com/adm...s/IMG_3105.jpg and http://www.harmonyinhuatulco.com/adm...s/IMG_3112.jpg . Since we plan to constantly release different various mats, any setting is ok: desert / jungle / winter / space platform / hell itself – you choose.

    Details
Mats are going to be used in 28-32mm miniature games, thus meaning, that an average human sized miniature is roughly 1 inch wide. Terrain should be ‘flat’ and should not suggest players that some drawn object might or might not be an in-game obstacle. Basically I need a background with ~3 different styles (i.e. forest – trees, grass, bushes; desert – rock, sand, oasis; sci-fi – ground, tiles, more tiles) 0-1 road / dry river / patch, ~10 unique large objects scattered through the mat (building ruins, wrecked warfare, fallen statues, piles of stuff, ponds, swamps, etc.), and some smaller elements (such as stones, bushes, puddles or springs, corpses, tracks, weapons, skeletons, wreckage etc.). These are just preliminary numbers of course.
A good example of what I am looking are these screenshots of some popular computer games:

    Technical
I will require 122 x 183 cm TIFF, 300 DPI. Time is not an issue as long as we’re not talking months. I will have the right to use the image for commercial purposes, the artist will have the right to exhibit the image as part of his portfolio but not to exploit it for commercial gain. Of course artists name and/or initials on the map and noted in product description. NDA if required by artist, signed agreement for the ease of both minds.

    Payment
You provide a link to your portfolio and / or you make a small image / fragment of what you are going to draw for free so we both know what to expect. We agree upon a price. If need arises, I can pay part of the sum in advance. PayPal transfer.

    Contacts
Email info@cutdeepstudio.com . Replace ‘cutdeep’ part with ‘deepcut’.

If your having trouble finding someone who can do this and at the 300dpi TIFF as required and you like these kinds of swatches in the link below that I did at 300dpi then I would have a go at this. I have some custom software that makes extremely large images of blended textures just like what I believe your requiring.

(See post #12 and beyond or post #33 for a swatch of 6 styles from the one initial setup).

I'm not much of a drawing artists but these kinds of texture maps and the ability to make them in the size you need is something that I have a lot of experience in.
