Default December 2012 Entry: Buttontop City

This is a rather loose interpretation of the challenge, but I keep a jar of buttons right by my computer. [So it's an imaginary map of something in my local vicinity, at least]. Some of my favorites happen to have detailing that looks a lot like roads. The button is home to a group of city dwelling faerie-mites who build out of found objects, much like the borrowers.

    Cool original idea!

It's harder than I thought to think on this small of a scale ^.^

Still working on it ^.^ Most of this is done in Sketchbook Pro, which I just got. I'm loving the program so far. I had to do the text and background ring in DrawPlus, since I am not sure how to do such things in sketchbook yet (or if they are possible). The font is "A Year's Supply of Faerie Cakes" by pizzadude, which I've been wanting to use in a project ever since I downloaded it.

I've finished up the storage area and began on the Industrial. The Industrial section is where larger items are broken down into small enough units for city construction, trade, or consumption.

Cool idea and nice implementation. Looking forward to seeing the final...but have some rep in anticipation and to spur you on.

The majority of objects are actual objects in my house. Some, like the honeycomb cell and waterdrop, are theoretical.
