    I like that. Nice work.
The grass is better now. Could be less yellowish.

What's that little thing at the well (south west of it).

Very nice! Is that bees at the south-center house?

One of the best small villages I can remember.

    Thanks everyone!

Those are indeed bees, and the thing by the well is a sorta crook-shaped lamppost with a big glowing stone on the end.

The lamp. The bees! How cute is that!
    Great detail.

Man, this is brilliant! I love hand-drawn, but the colours give a big extra. Very subtle!

I really like this map. I also think the grass looks better by adding more variation to it.

I'd like to ask, why are you using InDesign to add the labels, and not photoshop? Does InDesign have better options for adding text and other labels to a map like this? I have Indesign, but can't figure out what to use it for, since photoshop and illustrator seem to have all the functionality I need.

InDesign is desktop publishing software. I am writing a small introductory module to the world the village exists in so the map will be on one of the pages. The labels will be separate elements, as will the text, the spot markers, etc. If this map was a standalone image, I would label it directly in photoshop.

For example, when I put the image onto say... the right hand page of whatever "spread", it will go in its own bounding box. I can resize the image to suit the page in indesign without affecting anything else - I won't want my text labels to change size at all. If the labels were part of the image, they would change size as the image was scaled up or down.

I like how it turned out! Great village!
