Default January 2013 Entry: The Tadmur Ruins of Syria

It's been a year since I've mapped. I've been going through some withdrawals, mapping is one of the only things I enjoy and is unique about me. I will enter this months comp. I found an interesting actual site of ruins in the middle of the Syrian Desert called Tadmur (aka Palmyra). Looks very interesting, and some good landscape & structure to map that's out of my comfort zone. I'll post some WIP's as I get started.

Sounds cool! Google Satellite maps gives a good top-down view of these ruins.

Started on this - got a nice arabic desert feel to it. The hard part to come (and the fun part) - actually mapping the ruins!

no. translated online. It's a summary paragraph that I plan on also having under the title. And that Arabic part will most likely be smaller.
