Thread: Laser Cut Topo Map of Middle Earth

Wip Laser Cut Topo Map of Middle Earth

As I mentioned in my intro, I'm interested in bringing maps into the real world. For this I purchased a Full Spectrum Laser Pro 24" x 36" 90 watt CO2 laser cutter (Product Page). After doing some initial tests making etches in slate and cutting a Chrono Trigger clock, I finally took a stab at making a map.

This is very much a work in progress. It has spelling errors and is missing fine details, but it gets the point across.

    Interesting job!
*Sad that it's (again) a Middle Earth map (Max, oversaturated of Tolkien's maps)*

Please suggest another. This one was easy to convert so I chose it. I'm looking for a good app to obtain topographical data from real regions as well as fantasy worlds.

As someone who likes to err on the side of caution...no, it's not. Because i somehow doubt that Rave-TZ has the permission of Tolkien Estates and/or Middle-Earth Enterprises to make money with the ME map.
If you do, Rave-TZ, no offence intended. I just think you should be extra careful.
    I'm trapped in Darkness,
Still I reach out for the Stars
