Here is a recently completed commission. This was created for the novel "The Healer" by Dani Collins.

It was based on a fairly decent sketch provided by the author. The initial B&W map was created primarily in Inkscape using my own icons, with the layers assembled in Gimp (using 2.8.4 now, and quite happy with it). Some of the featured were cleaned up/added in Gimp directly (like the coast lines and most of the Badlands) In addition, she was looking for a map the seemed printed on hide, which is the version I'm posting here. The texture was created completely in Gimp, from scratch, and the B&W map merged in using about six versions in different blend modes, with a number of spread, blurs and offsets to make it seem inked into the texture.

The land of Kerfdom is west of the mountains, with the majority of the land to the east largely unexplored, hence the lack of detail in that area.
