    Looking better and better!
I still have mixed thoughts on the sea pattern though. Maybe a bit too proeminent or too curvy I don't know...

Hm, maybe I could turn down the opacity or delete more of the pattern with the mask.

I agree with Max regarding the sea pattern - it is a tad overwhelming. I had reservations about the darkness of the rivers also, but now that you've got more icons and stuff in there, it all balances out nicely.

    Wip

I decreased the opacity of the sea pattern and added a border and compass & scale bar. Some labels for the towns and villages.

Nice! I really like that broken/unused/forgotten road effect. The overall color palette is great; the only thing I'm not liking very much is the white stroke around the labels - is it possible to use a color stroke that more closely matches the background color around each label? The white is really jarring and 'computery' next to the soft, muted colors and shapes of everything else.

The compass and the line along the coast likewise get a "done on a computer look" from the way they look like you've drawn in white over top of everything.

    Good points, guys.
I could try to solve this by creating 'errors' and overlap/delete parts of the pattern and coastline.
