Default Jasper Fforde's Shades of Grey

    Hi all,
Jasper Fforde's Shades of Grey is one of my favorite novels, and what's more, it can be mapped. So I mapped it! If you haven't read it, I strongly recommend it. Enjoy.

I am not familiar with the setting but the map makes it look pretty intriguing. Also it's a very nice and clean piece of work.

Lovely work as always, Rob. I really like the understated relief.

p.s. I've been looking for that forest pattern everywhere off and on. I know it's posted up on the guild somewhere as part of a larger collection but I can't find it)...is there any chance you could post the pattern up so I can add it to my texture files?

    Cheers

Sure thing. It's from the USGS originally, but I can't seem to find it through Google either. How do I get an .ai file to you?

Okay ravells, here's the forest pattern I use in an Illustrator CS2 file. If you need an older version let me know and I can backsave it for you.

Thanks Rob, much appreciated! Just in case you need it (probably not if the forest outline size to the texture size is small), I have used image synth to make a tiling 2048 version (the current one looks like its 512 and the tile lines are obvious) which might be useful for really large forests.
