A soft update. Last night I was sketching (whilst trying to keep a low isometric perspective) a river rolling down through some mountains/hills off a high plateau, with a succession of waterfalls. So today I was inspired to try adding some waterfalls cascading down some canyon-like cliffs on my pencil map from the much higher perspective (whilst trying to keep the altitude of the terrain somewhat legible) and I learned something. It's a lot easier to do it from a low perspective. =\

This is looking great. I really appreciate the isometric mountains and rivers. Both elements seem to go a long way in making the terrain look three dimensional and not flat. Really well done so far. Looking forward to seeing this one done.

Update. I may have been a bit too enthusiastic with the canyons... I got a bit lost and turned around and am still trying to work myself out of it (the dangers of not paying attention to where you're walking, heh). But here you go.
