    Default WIP - Pencil Map

I have a tendency to leave unfinished projects laying around in obvious places, and I add to them little bits at a time. This map has been sitting on my table for about a week now... first photo I've taken of it. I thought someone might enjoy seeing it develop. So here it is.

Oh, I'm not erasing anything. My eraser doesn't get along with the printer paper, but I also kinda like to just adapt to whatever happens. There have been one or two mishaps resulting in a rise or fall of elevation... I think my pencil may be sentient (with the brains of a jitter beetle).

Funny that I just asked a question about drawing mountains. This might be a fair answer to it. Excellent start to a map - do you know where you're going with this?
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

    Thanks!

@foremost: Not a coincidence actually... you made me think to post it. And, ah, no. Not exactly sure where I'm going with it. I just let my pencil scribble around on the paper until it finds things that weren't there previously. The other end of the table is for planned projects.

That is really great - one of the best paper and pencil map illustrations I can remember seeing. Waiting anxiously for updates!

haha, thanks Diamond! Pencil is underrated... you can do a lot with a little point of graphite. Maybe I'll post more of them; I have pages of this type of sketchy terrain, and the style usually changes a bit with each one.
