Wip WIP - Inktense Watercolor Map

Inktense pencils (via water brush) and pen on a page in my blue sketchbook. The paper is not heavy, so it's getting rather warped and wrinkly, but it's good enough for practice. This is practice. I'm practicing patience. You can see where I ignored patience in favor of black... and now I will have to draw a small lake in the volcano crater to compensate for my hastiness. I was going to put a lake there anyway. (thumbs nose at impatience.)

That looks great. Yay for patience.

Thanks! Does anyone have ideas or examples of a nice way to label such a map? vorro, how would you suggest adding field notes to it? Sometimes I think I have more trouble with labels than patience, but I'm not sure yet whether it's more a worry of messing with the drawing, coming up with names, or simply finding a neat style or font to use. Been practicing a bit of calligraphy lately to steady my handwriting, because it looks like-- Well, a chicken would have trouble reading it and I need a steadier hand to label an Island map I've been working on for a few months. ... Rambling. Shutting up.

    Looks pretty sweet.

As for labelling ... Why not just go for your normal handwriting? Cursive chicken fonts would suit this, I think. Unless I have the wrong idea of what yours looks like

Thanks! Next time I'll have to do it on watercolor paper.

just some hand-written notes in small paragraphs in blank areas of the page, describing particular features or details of the map or what the artist thought while drawing it.
