Wip WIP - Illustrated Sketchbook Map

A funky little pen/paper illustrated map. I probably won't label it because it's quite small and I had not the foresight to leave space for them even if I'd wanted to.

Man - your illustrated and hand drawn maps are just gorgeous.

Do you ever work in color?

Thank you, and yes. Here's a watercolor map in progess: link I've done many more colored maps in digital media than I have traditional (you can check out my map albums or deviantArt gallery if interested), but I'm making an effort to do more hand-drawn maps all around... so you'll likely see more of those popping up in this forum thread in the near future.

Well, I'll think about labels... I have been jotting down names for many of the more interesting places, but there's really no space; the whole page is only 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches.

haha! Draw your own volcano - it's good fun, and good practice

I am actually, by trade, an artist. ... Which one is the hyena/jackal thing? I'm guessing either the camel tiger or the dog goat because you can't possibly mistake the dragon mouse for a jackal.

The thing in the river valley on the right. Actually the more I look at it, it looks like a sickly dinosaur.
