Wip April 2013 Entry: Isiliad Delemai - The Wretched Realms -

Well here comes again, another reincarnation of my wretched realms but with a slightly more lifeform friendly enviroment. I also did choosed a part of the 3rd map of the samples to start with.
After my long time of recovery I hope I can rejoin the Guild now. As most of you know, I rarely finish a Challenge, but well maybe we will be surprised now

Coastlines and Colorsheme setup done. The last was inspired by the recent Feature map of Oakfall by Obliro. I have seldom seen such a great colorsheme of the Land relating to the ocean and wanted to try that.

It was interesting to have the ASKI code landscape under the layers to paint the landscapes on top of it, but it was sometimes a bit hard to see what landscape the code represent due the rotation of the initial source map.
Oh and on this map I firsttime draw all mountains in directly, without brushes.

Added more details to the Mountains, overall color correction, more textures, trees and Rumplines and Compass-Rose.

Still Labels and Icons to do.

Wow. You don't need to do any more to it. This is already looking fantastic.

EDIT: One suggestion: I'm not that keen on the way the map overlaps the border, and the border becomes nearly invisible. If you have time, maybe you could clear that up? Or just disagree. It's a matter of taste, really, isn't it? Oh and welcome back, by the way.

The border is still in progress but the cartuche and other Elements will be the Main focus

Hey SK, long time no see! Welcome back!

I very much like the mountains. The map is a bit dark all in all. Will be interesting to see how the map looks like with all the material you want to plant on top of it (if all that white scribbling is any indication) ... normally i don't much care for such things.

Ay Eilathen, you think its too dark? Well its a test for a new map style anyway, and I was kind of feed up with my usual approach, so lets see where this will lead.
