    Post July Challenge: Duramen Inn

My role-playing session for tomorrow was canceled because of Independence Day, so I had a couple hours free that I would normally reserve for prepping for the game. And, what better use of my time than starting right in on this month's mapping challenge?

This is my preliminary sketch of Dumaren Inn (pronounce doo-ray'-men). It, and the rest of the town, have been magically carved from a grove of ancient ironwood trees and connected by a series of suspended bridges.

I had some time today to get started on my map (I love national holidays).

I'm a still hazy about VTT mapping, so if anyone sees something that shouldn't be there or is missing, please help a brother out. Ahem, like doors?

Ohh this is shaping up to be awesome. Love the clean lines and tree rings.

About doors. Well maybe they wouldn't have normal doors in such an abnormal place ? But your welcome to steal any doors I have made in the past if you need some.

Haven't had much time to work on this, but I was able to muscle up some curved decking (which was harder than I expected) and some more of the trunk (which was easier than I expected).

Now I need some foliage... Lots of foliage...

Right. Foliage. Thank you, Bryce 6.

I suppose I had better start thinking about objects and tokens. So, where can I find some samples? I need to get an idea of what's expected.

    Check out the Dundjinni forums.

And nice decking. Tricky, too. Did you do it in PS? I like the foliage. Looking good!

Here's my first shwagg at a VTT token. I came up with the 5' halo while trying to get the scale right and left it in cuz' I liked how it looked. For you guys that actually play in a VTT environment, let me know what you think. Is the halo too distracting?
