I like the simple border, it gives a finished look and matches the other borders without distracting from the map.

    Looking great!

    Wip

Compass and scale bar added, and trade routes.

I think the map is more or less finished.

I'm going to buy 100 each of aurium and xingblossom in Anming and sell it Suhan, buy 100 of the stuff there. The goods icons remind of the game Patrician. =P

Did you draw your town icons at a larger scale elsewhere and shrink them down for this map? I am considering using icons like those for a map and was wondering what the best approach was as they turned out nicely.

I'm no Sapiento but I can tell you from recent experience that you're better off drawing the icons separately and on a larger scale and shrink it down to fit your map size. You get to capture a lot more detail that way.
Here's a link to my deviantART, because I haven't got better things to write here (yet).

Exactly. That's the way I do it.

Damn fine work, man. Can't rep you yet; I'll have to scurry around and rep other folks some so I can get to you when voting time comes around.

By the way, my vote can be bought with gangoleaf.

    Thank you, D!
I will contact a trade mission and ask them to bring some gangoleaf!

Hold on Right there!! As a member of the Imperial Trade Federation Council, I must be consulted on any and all gangoleaf bribery transactions. All such nefarious business will only be certified after I receive my 40% consultation fee.

Life could be much easier without authorities!
