Map The heptarchy of Seferedh - fantasy map

    Hi all,

My latest map is a personnal project, the heptarchy of Seferedh. With this one I wanted to combine some old classic map elements in a fantasy setting. I've drawn all elements of the map in photoshop (except floral ornaments which I adapted from some old map), mixing some 19th century style inspired stuff (map border/frame, political borders, some fonts) with some 17th century style inspired elements (mountains, red city icons, some fonts) and with a touch of subtle fancy fantasy (cities fonts, insets).
Original size is 23"x33" (the uploaded version is around 65% size with less quality jpg). The WIP thread is here, with a bit of setting and some (little) tips about the way I did the border and the mountains. Thanks to those who supported it!

As usual, comments are welcome, hope you'll like it

    Not another great map, Max?

Can I vote to have Max officially banned from making the rest of us look bad?

great stuff - the design of the borders and 'transparency' is really good.

where do you get the borders/neatlines from? actuall books or a gallery or somewhere online?

Thanks Freodin, glad you like it!
@ Vorro : The borders are hand made, except the floral ornament bar and the flowers ornaments in the corners, that both were taken from an old map frame.

ah who am i kidding...it's a fantastic piece of work You have yet to disappoint, Max! If i can, i'll rep you.
Only nitpick - again, the forests are too sparse for me...it looks weird (you had that on one of your other maps as well...the one with the timeline iirc).
    I'm trapped in Darkness,
Still I reach out for the Stars

Exceptional work Max! I am a fan of your very subtle colour use, especially with the political borders. Your naming of things is quite evocative too!
