    Default Nalzambor – commission

Here's my second map for the writer Craig Halloran. Nalzambor is a classic high fantasy world, with elves and dwarves and orcs. Tried to show who the inhabitants are with the city icons, I dunno if it actually comes across that well… Anyway, this is for the digital release, I'm working on a black/white version for print too. It's made with ink, watercolors and Photoshop, as always, and the runes in the border are made with the font "Rune" by Tydi on Dafont.com.

The border is dedicated to -Max-

The borders are indeed more consistent with the overall feel than on your latest map :p

Good looking map. Watercolors give such a nice warm, natural feeling. Makes me wish I had any skill with them at all.

    Hey, great work

You mentioned this was for a writer. If it's going in a book, I hope it's printed in color. I think it looks much better like that.
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

Thanks, Foremost! Unfortunately the grayscale is for print, the color is just for the ebook. The client wasn't able to get a color print.

I quite like how you've handled the icons for the different cities. I don't know that I'd necessarily make the connection to different races without prompting, but I definitely can tell they're from different cultures.
