Good luck with that. By the way, I have a contest for someone to write a story for one of my maps. If your story is selected, I'll send you my Starbucks card and publish the story with my map.

$25 seems little money for a professional map, though perhaps someone very "amateurish" (like me, but not me because I can't really draw either) could do that for that pittance.
However, there is a big difference between offering money in payment and organizing a "lottery" for the same "prize". You are basically asking people to do the work for free, on the chance, the mere chance, of winning the (little) prize you are offering... I can't see anyone who is able to do maps remotely as good as those you have as examples in your blog taking such a chance.
You would probably have a better chance of success by offering the money outright and see if someone is interested, and choose based on his or her previous work.

On an unrelated note, "A Dance of Dragons" is a weird choice for a title these days, given how similar it is to the last volume of one of the most famous fantasy series of all time (one which you even CITE in the very description of your own work!), which also happens to have been published fairly recently.

    Hi,

Thanks for checking in! Just something simple in black and white, not overly complex as I think those sometimes get too muddled to read unless done perfectly. Totally fine if you're a novice or not experienced, or whatever level anyone is! A few artists already reached out about entering just for fun even though they've never worked on maps before, they just wanted to give it a try.

If you go to my blog, I posted more details there: Kaitlyn Davis's Blog: Calling All Artists! Enter for a Chance to Win $50 and Publication in The Shadow Soul!!

Anyway, thank you!! Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Kaitlyn-

I changed your post from "paid" to "other" as you are running a contest with a prize, not selecting an artist to pay for a commissioned work.

And while I will neither condone not condemn such request, I will not be entering and would like to provide some reading for your consideration:
