In this reality, Texas became independent in 1836, followed by the Rio Grande Republic in 1840. Yucatan followed in 1841, rejoined, then became independent in 1848 after the Mexican-American War. The treaty of 1848 ceded territory marked in gray to the US. Later, Mexico lost territory to the United States of Central America, which was backed by the United Kingdom in the 1850s.
