I am jealous. I've tried building maps of solar systems/galaxies before but I just don't possess the artistic ability.

I really like well done sci-fi star map and this one seems really inspiring to me.
May I ask you if you have painted also the starry background or, if it's a stock image, where did you get it?

I love the colors! do you have a back story about why there are different colors? or even better a myth about why there are those colors.

This is seriously awesome. I find myself drawn to making scifi/space maps myself so this is really something to aspire to. I'd be interested in hearing about your nebulae/star dust techniques. I don't think I've seen anything exactly like this before.

Alas! The map seems to be gone from the server it once lived on.

I bet a nickel maaaaany of us saved a copy to admire later. :-) :-) :-) T'wouldn't be proper for one of us hoarders to repost, but maybe the discussion will catch SwissKnight's eye and encourage a repost right here on the CG. One can upload files around 4MB, and if that isn't big enough to fit the whole thing, a de-rezzed version whole, and parts at full resolution would be nice, pretty please.

    I think I've found it. Can I re-post it?
The original is 35 mb in size and no wonder it's so hard to find, the name of the map is: map
