Thread: January 2014 Entry - The Lost Island

Post January 2014 Entry - The Lost Island

The idea of the game is to defeat the boss in the centre of the island, which wins the game. To achieve this you first most collect the keys that are located at the Mage's Tower, Barbarian Camp, Fortress, Dark Portal, and the Graveyard. Each of these areas has a boss which is higher level compared to other cards. Also after defeating an area, each place gives a special ability on that square. Such as the Mage's Tower allows the Transmute of a equipment card, which allows you to change that card with the top of the deck.

To be able to defeat these bosses, you first most level up and gain equipment. To do this you defeat monster cards, and purchase equipment. These two things increase your level. If you are not able to defeat the monster, you can either take one of health, run away, or ask for help. Asking for help pools your levels, but also means they gain the chance to gain your treasure, by rolling 1 or 2.

    A couple of the cards.

The Card style reminds me of Munchkin. I just got Star-Munchkin for my kids. Its good, silly fun.

Did a few quick sketches for the other areas, as I wanted to see how the map would look in colour. Only base colour at the moment, will be adding shadow and highlights later.

Nice progress. I like the Idea of a Whole world, reminds me of very old maps beeing drawn in similar style.

The instructions on the right would not be added if the board was real, but needed a way to add the different elements together. Have not created tokens or player pieces for the board game as these would be in 3D similar to carcassonne meeples.

Very creative Vivi! I did notice one spelling mistake on the card " Amazonian Drag Queen " it should read " Derek ALWAYS wanted to be an Amazon " Hope it won't be to hard to fix.

Thanks, I had some fun coming up with the card names.

Thanks, hadn't noticed that had a different sentence there before.
