Maybe some select and feather effect in the coastlines?

BTW mountains in middle of the forests looks a nice idea.

Alright, here's the upper shore and the last bit of the sea you'll see for awhile.

This is the newly stroked coast. I'm also redoing the coast rings because they were also badly blurred in the scaling.

Aquarits, what do you mean by "select and feather effect" on the coast? What do you think of the new, cleaner coast?

And BLAM! The drawing is done!
Now I've got to do the lettering... that shouldn't take long in Inkscape.

Sooo...I have all the lettering done; now I have two questions.
    1. The final map is slightly over 6000 by 6000 pixels; it's WAY too big for this site even with liberal jpeg compression. Should I rescale the image to the maximum dimensions possible for upload? Should I adjust the jpeg compression level to the maximum level possible for upload? Or should I use a combination of the two?
For that matter, how do people submit full-size, completed maps here?

    2. Given that I can get the map into some form suitable for upload, where am I supposed to post it? At the end of this thread? In a new thread in the "Finished Maps" section of the Gallery? Or in both?
    (I've never done this before...)

Hi I just had a similar problem. Mine was smaller, so I was able to compress it (at like 67% lol) and export it that way, but any bigger and I will have to scale it down too.

I don't know how everyone does those huggggge maps.

But I would post a finished map thread, and link to it from here, though I've seen people do either/both
Have you "liked" a post today?

All lettering/pasting/compressing is finished, and the completed map is now here.
