    That's a surprise, but then again in 1981 most people didn't have easy access to copiers or scanners.

    I checked my old gaming stuff last night and found the book of hex maps I had that had non-photo blue hexes and did not find the TSR mapping book which means that it must have belonged to my friend Brett who was the other DM in our group. Ah the memories...

    Regarding that early art, it was certainly simpler and probably a lot faster to produce, and easier to color as well.
