Wip February/March 2014 Lite Challenge: Hansel & Gretel

    Hi folks!

Thought I'd have a bash at the Challenge this time - some great stuff going on already, though, so I'm probably bringing up the rear here

That said, I decided to go with a storytelling map of Hansel & Gretel (complete with story!). Started out with a basic layout, then added some rough buildings and carried it on with the text. I've just got done putting details on the houses, next step is to detail the forest, then start colouring!

I still learning, so please feel free to leave some creative criticism!

    Cheers

Excellent work! It is OK to post more than one image on a post, but sometimes the WIP thingy picks up the wrong one.
Just be sure your last post only has one image in it.

    Thanks guys!

I've done a bit more work on it now; base colours are done and I've added a little more detail.

It's probably not too important but FYI, I've done all of this by hand - even all of the lettering! Took me bloody ages lol!

Very nicely detailed. I'm liking it so far. I can imagine it took a long time!

I've done enough calligraphy (or more correctly butchered enough) to know how long that must have taken. Hats off to you.

    Thank you very much guys

I'm done with the map, now but I thought I'd just throw a little border around it before calling it quits... Having said tbat, I think that, with the style I've chosen, I've bitten off more than I can chew!

And yeah, it's taken me a while, lol!
