    (Good comment about the legend. I may use the legend font for the map as well which will tie it together better. As for the ships, I like them, they will be hard to lose. I was going for a "stamped on" look for both the ships and the map symbols, but maybe I did not succeed.)

    Don't lose the ships! Which is to say I like the elements individually just fine. Unify your styles by tracing the over fine line work with a larger brush or adding a stroke around the edge or trying a filter effect that will bring the details into line (such as the stamp or posterize).
