Question Any ideas for a moderate newbie?

Hello! I am pretty new to the cartographers guild and could use some new ideas on map making? Thanks!

Try our monthly challenges - a new idea every month - actually two ideas, if you go for the lite challenge, too.

    Also, try doing commissioned maps

New ideas meaning you feel confident artistically/technically, but you just need inspiration? If so, I agree that mapping challenges and commissions would be good places to turn if you have the time required to turn things in on a deadline.

If you mean you're new to the hobby and need to build up your skills, I think the mapping challenges would be great, but simply working through some tutorials that interest you would be good too. There are TONS of them in the tutorial section and they cover pretty much any mapping technique you could want to learn.

Newbie too! Working though a couple of the tutorials got me started, too. It was a great way to learn all the techniques.
