Newbie Map Maker

Hi all!

I'm working on a Fantasy book series set in a non-existing world. I started doing basic sketches of my kingdoms on paper, but wanted something nicer. I found some great video tutorials on Youtube, such as this one from Jessica Khoury and the one from Kindari for the Ascension maps, which led me here. I've been obsessing over Google Earth, atlases and map inserts for other Fantasy books for a few weeks now, even bought a Wacom tablet and Photoshop to help me. I thought I'd stop lurking on here and say hey! I am falling in love with map making the more I do it, and am glad that a group of like minded individuals exists!

Here is a preliminary island base I'm working on, I'll post an update once it's finished (I know I've got some lines that are too soft and wispy bits that shouldn't be there, but it was done before my tablet arrived in the mail, now that I have the tablet I can clean all that up):
