    Map Jovenia

A personal map, testing a new satellite image style. Just a random mining colony.

    Done in PS.

Pretty good, though the forests and coasts lacks some "depth" in my opinion.

same here, the general color tone is good and fits well with your sattelite view style but it lacks a few effects on coasts and forests.
ps: whats the fonts you use? It is quite nice for a sci fi type of font

    Thank you!

My goal was to create the map as realistic as possible without using any real world elements (like Google Earth). So any depth to forests and coast is out of question. From several hundred km up in the orbit you don't see any elevation that has not considerable height like a mountain or a great plateau.

    And the font is Zekton.

I like it. I agree with the above crit that it lacks a bit of depth . I might add that you may want to push the value range in the piece as well. I think that having a broader range of lights & darks may help build visual interest and draw attention to the details you'd like the viewer to focus on.

A good way to see wether the value range needs boosting is to convert the image to greyscale and see if it's still readable.

The map is definitely working, just push it a bit further and it will really sing.
