    Wip Middle-east Cobalt Valley

Hi guys, this is my first map post in this forum, and I'll be using my "starting region for my next RPG" map. Done in GIMP.

I followed some tutorials and I got this final map. I think it's ok, but I may be blind with my "beloved brand new child".

The "handwritten" font represents villages and towns. The other font represents the land, like forests and rivers. I tried to follow all the hints on name positioning that I'd found.

    Thank you.
I like the mountains too, but I am not satisfied with the rivers on the mountains, it seems strange to me. I will try to improve that in the next map.

    Hello:
I like the map. I agree about the rivers. I have the same issue when I do rivers. They never look right. I was given the suggestion of googling images of river maps. It has actually helped me to make better looking rivers. The mountains are not bad. They are better then what I can do freehand with a computer.

    Thank you.

I did this map using this tutorial http://www.cartographersguild.com/tu...l-rpg-map.html

And for the mountains, this one http://www.cartographersguild.com/tu...ains-gimp.html

For the rivers, I'd found a better way, just use this tutorial http://www.cartographersguild.com/tu...mp-wilbur.html

Freehand is hard, but is awesome.
