Default Karivosa, arctic-themed map (got it in the right section this time)

Hi, everyone. I've been working on a map (based on an older one, also by myself) and decided to try using images copied from Google Earth to enhance the realism of the map. I'm hoping it worked. I will continue to post photos of my progress.
By the way, I originally posted in the wrong section so some of you may have already seen these...

And started adding some labels here. I'm notoriously bad at labelling, so feedback on this one would be most appreciated.
Also, my apologies for posting in the wrong section on the first try.

Scratch that. I've decided to take this map in a completely different direction. It was inspired in part by English maps from the 17th century.

That looks pretty fantastic to me. I like the first version, but the second, colorized one is superior in my book. Labeling looks good; that diagonal method really makes it pop, as long as you continue that convention across the entire map. If you only do it in one section, it may look odd. Nice job with the mountains; I'm fond of that look/technique myself.

    Keep it up!

Thanks Diamond. I'm glad you like the mountains, they were the part of the map I was most worried about.

One thing you might do though, is to introduce one or two different mountains silhouettes to mix things up a little. I've been accused of monotonous mountains before...

    I like the map overall.
Diamond is right that the mountains could benefit from more variety.
