    Default Mountain Pass

Hi there. I started a new mapping project few days ago. The plan is to have a road leading through the mountains and over the streams. I'm currently drawing the mountains and I already got some finished, so you should get an idea of how they will look. Sketched also placeholders for rivers and a road but they have to wait till I get the ground coloring done.

This is a low res version, but I'll upload the full one when I get into drawing the smaller details.

The rocky parts of the mountains are almost finished, so I started to draw some small rivers, forest and other ground details. Here is a sample of how it will be. Some of the smaller details are not visible unless you zoom in.

Bit of a delay recently, but finally made some progress. I'm trying to find the best way to create different forest densities without making parts look just transparent. Once I get it working I will make the forest to follow the river more and of course clear the riverbanks.

ooh, that's looking great Pasis. I like what you're trying about those forests. Right now, I like it a lot and it's easy to see the relief underneath the trees.

    Thanks guys.
CharlesRobinson - Yes I'm using Photoshop for all exept the base heightmap which is done using Geocontrol.

Here is a new sample. I'm experimenting with a small lake. Currently the water is too transparent, but I'll sort it out later somehow.
