Hi there. I found myself comfortable in making topo maps (or some sort of topo maps). But i do not get a way to display, for example, forests that stretch over a hill area and yet making the user aware that portion of the forest is on a hilly area. Making the forest transparent is not eye-candy enough for me.

What i'd really need to know is a way to make in Inkscape something to pop up the forest on the elevated area, perhaps playing with shadows or something...

Having a second though while writing this post, would be to make a pointed line over the topo boundaries... but I think should be a more aesthetically nicer solution to this.

So, suggestions and Inkscape tech tips?

Thanks!
