I'm liking how the waterfalls came out!
Have begun the shading in earnest, with highlighting to come. Makes it pop.
Have paused in that stuff to do the labeling now, as we're near the end...

A comment on the waterfalls .... they don't look realistic. Water doesn't foam as it falls, it foams when it hits. You have way too much foam too high in the falls.

That said, this project is really amazing

@chick - Thanks for the feedback. I do appreciate it.

I was wondering how to do the look of the falls for a while, and I looked at a lot of pictures of waterfalls. From what I've seen, most mountainous white-water cataracts like these appear to go quite pale and foamy fairly close to the top. I think this has to do with the water going into free-fall and beginning to separate into smaller and smaller droplets as the air buffets it on the way down. The more droplets, the whiter the water appears. After a few hundred feet there is only mist...the upper waterfall in my drawing is several hundred feet tall, and the lower one is still pretty big.

Here are some of the kind of pictures that influenced my approach:

I'll bet I can guess, with just one chance, what form of execution is practiced by the town's judicial system.

    Nice map!

Don't confuse the "white" look to the waterfall water falling through the air with the misty foam at the base. It looks white as it falls, probably for the exact reason you describe. All the droplets are falling downward. The misty look you have in the picture does not look like water falling. It looks foamy like the base of a waterfall looks where the spray is bouncing upward. Here are a couple of pictures where you can see the difference distinctly.

    Labels and Locations! Adventure awaits...

(Some highlighting and small adjustments to come)

@chick - Thanks for the examples and explanation.

    That is lovely
And I really appreciate how the numbers on the landmarks just blend in at 100% view.
    Approaching completion, I guess?

Chris, don't forget that the original picture should be included in your final map picture (this will help people to see what picture you decided to map). By the way, great job !
