I saw that the author of Shelves didn't want to know where the real-life water fall was during production, but I'm assuming it can be revealed now? I was pleasantly surprised to see that picture, as I used to live near these falls and have visited many times. Heck, I'll put it in spoiler anyway.

 

Multnomah Falls, near Portland, Oregon. Indeed, the whole Columbia Gorge area is ripe with possibilities like this; it takes only a little imagination to see that whole area as a fantasy setting. Nice work on this!

Thanks to everyone who voted. I had a great time working on the map and sharing the process with everyone. Because I wasn't quite finished when the deadline hit, I have a slightly prettier version of the map that I'll be posting shortly, for anyone who is interested.
